The Pettman/ROSL Scholarship for a New Zealand Chamber Ensemble is organised in partnership with our ROSL Branch in New Zealand and is made possible through the generous support of Barrie and Maureen Pettman. The scholarship provides young chamber ensembles from New Zealand the opportunity to gain a range of experiences in the UK including performing in venues including at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, St Martin in the Fields, St James’ Piccadilly and our own Princess Alexandra Hall at ROSL. Scholars are also given the chance to meet and take lessons from professors from the UK’s prestigious music colleges, as well as experience concerts including the BBC Proms, Wigmore and West End shows. The group will also travel to one of the major UK summer schools as part of their time here. Partner schools include British Isles Music Festival and Lake District Summer Music Festival.
Past winners have included The Aurelian Piano Trio, The Tasman Duo, and The Trinity Trio.
Applications are now closed for the 2018 scholarships.
